RVN has undertaken a 3 year college course and has passed written and practical examinations in veterinary nursing. RVNs are required to complete an online progress log which documents all areas of practical work within a veterinary practice. RVN’s are qualified to take blood samples, monitor anaesthetics, take x-rays and assist the veterinary surgeons.
A SVN is in the process of undertaking a 3 year course and is either in their first or second year of training.
This is a nurse that has not yet started their college education and is gaining practical experience.
HANNAH SIMMONDS - HEAD NURSE - RVN C & G CERT VNES
Hannah joined Hall Place in 2009 and qualified in 2011. She has a keen interest in small mammals and exotics, recently completing a certificate in veterinary nursing of exotic species.
Hannah enjoys horse riding in her spare time, and shares her home with many animals including Woody the Bearded Dragon.
JO EDMONDS - RVN
Jo qualified in 2000 and joined Hall Place in 2010.
Jo enjoys running and lives with her husband, daughter and two burmese cats.
SOPHIE HAYDEN - RVN
Sophie joined Hall Place in 2013 after working in a practice in Woodley where she qualified in 2012. She has an interest in Orthopaedic Surgery.
She lives in Woodley with her partner and enjoys walking, swimming and cycling.
BECKY SMITH - RVN
Becky joined Hall Place in 2010 as our Saturday girl, and she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016.
She lives in Marlow with her family and rescue dog Rodney.
KATE LACEY - RVN CERT VNES
Kate joined Hall Place in February 2017. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014. Kate has completed her Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species.
Kate has an interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. At home she lives with her two rescue dogs and two rabbits.
JOSEPHINE STRICKLAND-TAYLOR - RVN
Josephine did her Student Nurse placements at Hall Place and qualified as a RVN in 2017.
Josephine lives in Wallingford and enjoys horse-riding in her spare time.
KATIE MARSH- RVN
Katie joined Hall Place in 2012 as a Student Veterinary Nurse and qualified in 2015. She left in January 2016 to travel and work in Australia and rejoined the team in October 2017.
She enjoys running, yoga and spending time with her family and friends.
CAROLINE O'CONNOR - RVN MARLOW
Caroline qualified in 1991 and joined Hall Place in 1998. She has a certificate in Veterinary Nurse training and also as a Pet Health Councillor.
She lives in Henley with her husband and twins, their two cats 'Bonny' and 'Bobby' and two rabbits ‘Shadow’ and ‘Storm’.
LOUISE HEARNE - RVN BOURNE END
As well as working as a nurse, Louise is a partner in running the Bourne End Cattery and Bunnery and is a busy Mum of two. They share their home with Daisy the dog and three cats Oscar, Martha and Matilda.
HAYLEY DUNNE - RVN BOURNE END
Hayley qualified when working at Brook House in 2003. She shares her home with rescue cat Tim and rescue dog Hughie that she hand reared. Hayley's young daughter now very ably helps her Mum looking after their pets.
